HEGGEMANN is named after more than a year of preparation as the development and manufacturing partner of the international tender for the chassis development of the short-haul TRJ328 ™ aircraft at the Farnborough Airshow on July 12th.

TRJet is a Turkey-based subsidiary of the Sierra Nevada Corporation (SNC). Headquartered in the US, SNC is an owner-managed company that develops and manufactures aerospace products with approximately 3,000 employees. The TRJ328 ™ is the updated successor to the DO 328, a passenger aircraft produced by the German aircraft manufacturer Dornier from 1993 to 2003. It offers up to 32 seats and, thanks to its robust design, can use very short and possibly unpaved runways. In order to be able to use the aircraft even more diversely, the take-off weight for the propeller variant of the DO 328 is to be increased and thus adjusted to the jet, which entails a new development of the landing gear system. Therefore, the development and approval according to the EASA guideline CS 25 takes place and is therefore in a category with aircraft such as the Airbus A320.

As a responsible system supplier, HEGGEMANN AG will design the bow and main landing gear on the aircraft-specific loads, construct it in detail and prove compliance with the extensive approval regulations by means of appropriate tests. All work is documented according to the aviation standard and made available to the customer for the new registration of the aircraft.

"One of the key features of the 328 series is its ability to land on a variety of surfaces, such as sand or grass, to reach almost any destination in the world," said CEM Ugur, General Manager of TRJet. "We are very pleased and proud to have been nominated for such a challenging project with our expertise as a suspension specialist," said Robert Heggemann.

The aircraft is currently playing a strategic role in several countries, including as a regional aircraft, for special missions, air rescue, cargo, VIP and corporate shuttle. Demand for such machines is expected to grow strongly over the next two decades. Dave Jackson, Managing Director of 328 SSG, "Our focus was to integrate key partners into our program. I would like to highlight four of our partner companies - Pratt & Whitney Canada (Engines), Rockwell Collins (Avionics), Liebherr Aerospace (Air Management and Flight Control Systems) and HEGGEMANN AG (Landing Gear) ".
